What Pastor David Ibiyeomie Did When Poverty Stared Him in the Face
General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has shared how he overcame poverty through a life-changing encounter with God’s Word. Speaking during a recent sermon, he emphasized the power of scripture in transforming lives and guiding believers into lasting prosperity.
According to the cleric, true success does not come from shortcuts or human wisdom but from diligently studying and applying biblical principles. “It’s not enough to just say, ‘oh, you’re fine.’ Take time,” he urged, stressing that believers must patiently search the scriptures for answers to their challenges.
Recounting his own experience, Ibiyeomie revealed that there was a time when lack and hardship confronted him daily. “Poverty was staring at my face. I took time to settle with the Word of God to locate what it takes to prosper God’s way,” he said. That decision, he explained, became the turning point that changed his financial story and overall life.
He noted that many people seek wealth through worldly methods, but such approaches often lead to frustration. In contrast, God’s Word offers principles that guarantee sustainable prosperity. He cautioned Christians not to depend solely on prophetic declarations or motivational speeches without personally engaging the Bible.
Ibiyeomie further explained that prosperity, in God’s context, is not limited to money. It also includes peace of mind, good health, spiritual growth, and fulfillment. “Whatever is missing in your life, take time to locate God’s Word in that area,” he encouraged.
This message forms part of his teaching series on the “four keys to success,” with the discovery of the Word highlighted as the foundation. He reminded worshippers that breakthroughs only come when they take personal responsibility to study scripture.
